Teens get ready for the workplace

We believe success belongs to those willing to prepare for it. Which is why we have such a strong partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee. Their mission to inspire young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens inspires us. And has led many of our people to donate their time and expertise to support local teens in their efforts to become ready for work. For the third year in a row, ManpowerGroup employees planned and led “A Brand Called You”—an event held at our Milwaukee headquarters. The program was designed to give local youth an opportunity to develop a personal brand, meet role models, and prepare presenting themselves in a professional environment. It is a chance to show a dynamic group of inner city kids how bright their futures can be.

Doing good. It works wonders.

We know that giving young people a strong start getting ready for work is critical for sustainable careers. Those who have four or more contacts with employers while in school are more likely to be employed at ages 19-24, and five times less likely to be jobless later in life. And beyond any statistics, we believe programs like this give young people a sense of purpose and self worth that’s important in their development as human beings as well as employees.

“I want to tell the world that I’m going to make a big impact. I’m going to do big. And I will come back to Milwaukee to help our communities.” — LeRon, participant
